ARBO® BUTE-AL BAND

ARBOProtect Pro® Range


Draught and water-proof sealing tape made of an adhesive butyl covered with tear proof polyester aluminium laminate.

Easy application self-wound reel dispenses with necessity to remove paper.

Main Applications of ARBO® BUTE-AL BAND

The surfaces must be clean, dry and free of dust. For friable, porous surfaces, it is advisable to use ARBO ® Primer 2650. Clean contaminated and greasy surfaces with ARBO Cleaner N°15.

Do not to apply to ice and frosty surfaces below 5°C. BUTE-AL BAND is compatible with most surfaces however trials are always recommended on plastics and rubbers and unusual surfaces. Apply direct from roll to surface using an ARBO roller.

To avoid inclusion of air bubbles and ensure good contact to substrate.  The recommended application pressure is between 5 g/cm² and 15 g/cm². Allow 5 cm on all lap joints. The aluminium foil may be painted after a site trial.

Uses

The butyl adheres to a wide range of substrates and is tear proof Used for sealing behind pressure plates on glass assemblies and glass roofs, canopies, curtain walls, doors or window frames conservatories and ducting.

ARBO BUTE-AL BAND is weather and UV resistant highly impermeable to moisture vapour and other gases.

The butyl laminate is a plastic product and does not possess any elastic resilience. Please do not use in load bearing applications and should not be used to replace mechanical fixings.  The mechanical performances of butyl sealants decrease with an increase of temperature. Butyl sealants are sensitive to solvents.

Storage Life
Shelf life 12 months from production dates, in original unopened packaging and protected from humidity. Store in a well-ventilated room and at a maximum temperature of 30°C.
