On Birmingham’s bustling Bristol Street, a landmark development is taking shape. The Boulevard project, led by Bespoke Construction, is a flagship mixed-use scheme bringing 278 new homes, leisure facilities, and retail spaces to the heart of the city. The development combines a 15-storey reinforced concrete tower with a 5-storey steel-framed structure, complete with a podium garden, gym, co-working areas, lounges, and parking.

Working in collaboration with Rite-Fix, the project team turned to ARBOSHIELD Pro®'s EPAM (External Perimeter A-rated Membrane) — chosen for its exceptional performance, ease of application, and reliability in challenging site conditions.

The Boulevard development demanded high-quality joint sealing and membrane performance across extensive façade works. Given the project’s scale and accelerated schedule, on-site efficiency was critical. EPAM was selected for its proven simplicity and dependable adhesion, especially under variable temperatures typical of a UK build environment.

Early site conditions included cold weather that could have hindered productivity, but EPAM’s ability to perform without the need for primers, even in low temperatures, ensured the installation stayed on track. Its versatility provided a consistent, high-performance seal between the concrete and sheathing board interfaces, supporting the project’s goals for air and water tightness.

Rite-Fix played an instrumental role in introducing ARBOSHIELD PRO®’s EPAM to the project, recognising its fit for the technical and scheduling demands of the build. Backed by CARLISLE®’s quick technical response and supply turnaround, materials were delivered promptly to site, ensuring no disruption to the programme.

The Boulevard continues to progress on schedule, with EPAM delivering consistent results across both the 15-storey and 5-storey blocks - a reflection of the product’s versatility and ARBO’s commitment to dependable, responsive support for major construction projects.
