Driving health & safety across our factories, sites and finished buildings

Showcasing the ARBO® range at the UK Construction Week, Excel this May

April 28 2024 marks the International Labour Organisation’s World Day for Safety & Health at Work. As a UK manufacturer serving the construction sector, at ARBO® we take health and safety very seriously; both in our own manufacturing, logistics and site operations, and in the way we provide systems that prioritise safety on site, throughout a building’s construction and operational phases.

We are focused on developing and producing products that are both high performing and practical, answering the requirements of contemporary architectural and construction practices to help deliver built assets that are safer and more resilient than ever. That culture begins in our Belper factory, where our team are highly trained, and safety is a priority.

We have worked hard to develop a safety culture and believe that safety and efficiency go hand-in-hand, ensuring production runs smoothly and we maintain throughput at our factory that meets demand for our wide-range of market-leading sealants. Our latest figures across the ARBO® and CARLISLE® UK businesses highlight outstanding safety achievements including:

·       Year-end: 1002 days since the last Loss Time Incident (LTI)

·       Year-end: 305,212 hours without an LTI

·       0 RIDDOR/Recordable Incidents

Reducing the impact of climate change on health and safety

This year’s theme for World Day for Safety & Health at Work is ‘the impacts of climate change on occupational health and safety’, which resonates with us at ARBO, because we are part of CARLISLE; a global company that’s committed to reducing the environmental impact of construction and tackling the effects of climate change to build a better tomorrow.

CARLISLE’s goal is to put sustainability at the heart of both the way we operate, and the products we bring to market, aiming to

·      reduce our own environmental impact

·      minimise the environmental impact of our products

·      enable our customers to build sustainability into building performance

We consider the sustainability of our products and our clients’ projects throughout their lifecycle, including the materials we use, our manufacturing processes, buildability considerations, service life, and legacy.

By joining the dots between how we look after our own team and how we operate to protect people and the planet on a wider scale, we can all build a better future.
